Well, I went about this series all wrong! I read books #2 an #3 first and some months ago at that. I have now corrected my mistake and can tell you that this is the perfect start to the series. I'm kind of glad that I waited so long to read this one and will have to re-read the other two. This book tells the story of Jess and Kim. Both doctors in different specialties and both with a not so happy past. I really loved how Kim was able to get Jess to acknowledge her "secret" and open herself up for love. Both women were so hurt in the past that it took a lot of acceptance, patience, understanding and most importantly---love ,for them to overcome in order for a real and lasting love to happen. It was so rewarding to see how they ended up as a couple. The story flowed effortlessly and the characters were very well developed. I loved every word of this book and would really like to see more books in the series. Many thanks to the author for such a wonderful book. I have read so many lesbian/medical/romance novels before, and to me this one was just bordering on a little dry in the plot. There was good character development, but there were just some points where it felt a little slow and/or unrealistic. I know there is the stereotype about lesbians moving in on the second date, but I hate reading books like that because I feel like it never actually is something that happens and works in real life.There were a couple of spelling and/or grammar mistakes, or just putting in a completely wrong word. It's easy to figure out what the author was trying to say, but still.Another thing. Spoiler alert but, there should be a sexual assault trigger warning on this book.
